Conference Call For Proposals

The Conference Goal is to provide programs that specifically address the administrative and academic needs of college and university leaders, develop the skills required for effective leadership, and maximize the opportunity for conference participants to interact with each other.

The Chair Academy invites you to submit a proposal summarizing a presentation you would like to share with our conference participants, at our 23rd Annual International Leadership Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.

Presentations are to be relevant, useful, and practical to the complex role of educational leaders. Sessions are NOT to promote publications or other materials that involve remuneration, advertise consulting services, or endorse commercial ventures. All sessions are participant centered, rather than lecture format, and actively involve participants through discussions and activities.

Special consideration is given to topics relevant to the conference theme, "The Gateway to Leadership"

Concurrent Sessions . . .
are presented with the support of AV equipment and usually have 30-40 participants.
Concurrent sessions receive an LCD Projector, Screen, Flip Chart Stand/Pad, and Markers.

• The Chair Academy DOES NOT provide Laptops to presenters.

• If you use a MAC/Apple computer, please supply your own projector attachment.

• The option of having internet in your Concurrent Sesssion presentation room is available for a $35* fee.

• The Chair Academy has a limited number of internet rooms, and are determined on a first come, first served basis.

Roundtable Sessions . . .
are facilitator led discussions with a smaller group (8-10 participants)
Roundtable Sessions are provided with a Flip Chart Stand/Pad and markers only.

• The Chair Academy DOES NOT provide Laptops, LCD Projectors, Screens, or Internet Option for Roundtable Sessions.

Acceptance
The deadline to submit your presentation is January 20, 2014 (EXTENDED)
You will be notified by January 31, 2014 if your proposal has been accepted.

All accepted Concurrent Session proposals will require the presenter to submit a paper describing their session topic.

This paper will be posted to the academy website. Exemplary papers may be submitted to the Editorial Board for consideration of
publication in the Academy journal Leadership. Please submit your finished paper in a PDF document.
The paper must be submitted by February 21, 2014.

Roundtable Sessions are not required to submit a paper.

Audiovisual Requests
Concurrent Sessions

Presenters of concurrent sessions will be provided with the standard audio visual set up:

• 1 LCD Projector and Projection Screen

• 1 Flip Chart Stand/Pad

• Markers, Pens, Pencils, and Tape

• The Chair Academy DOES NOT provide Laptops to presenters.

• MAC/Apple users, please supply your own projector adapter.

If presenting a concurrent session, please indicate below any additional audiovisual needs. We will do our best to provide these, but can make no guarantees:

The Chair Academy DOES NOT provide Laptops, LCD Projectors, Screens, or Internet Option for Roundtable Sessions.

 

All accepted presentations will require a paper, written in APA style, to be submitted by February 21, 2014.

These papers will be posted to the Academy website.

All presenters must register and pay the conference registration fee.

If the presenter will only be in attendance on the day of the presentation, only the one-day fee is required.
